Our Newsletter Get InvolvedWe help children grow academically by engaging them in educational activities while not in school. In the summer, certified teachers lead academic stations including reading, writing, and math. Year-round, children enjoy unique trips and experiences where they learn as much as they have fun.
We help children grow socially by encouraging, modeling and praising positive peer interactions. Our weekly character development themes, respect, responsibility, teamwork, empathy, kindness and perseverance, along with rewards to reinforce good decision making, cultivate caring individuals with the confidence needed to succeed.
We help children grow emotionally by providing a caring and nurturing environment where they feel safe to express their emotions and are given the tools to help manage them. Our fun, family atmosphere fosters resilience, creates joyful memories, and promotes a child's overall mental health and well-being.
A SPY participant is an elementary aged student in the Carlisle, South Middleton, or Big Spring School District. School counselors identify and refer those students who are struggling in the classroom, either academically, socially or emotionally, and who would benefit from added academic engagement and a positive, supportive environment while not in school. Pre and post camp testing are a testament to the quality of SPY’s program and our ability to effect a positive change. Year after year over 80% of SPY participants maintain or improve their reading and math skills and nearly 100% display social emotional growth. Together we are making a difference!
